We have two traditional reading competitions in the junior section of our school namely the local reading competition and regional reading competition.
In this school year we organized our Local Reading Competition on 5 April 2019. Thirty-seven junior pupils from the neighbouring towns such Bucsa, Füzesgyarmat, Körösladány, Vésztő and also from Szeghalom participated in this event. These children were in grades 2, 3, and 4. The participants had to read two texts. The first was an unfamiliar tale after a short preparation, and the other one was a text of their own. The productions were eveluated by a jury of four. The members of the jury were of the teachers of the participanr schools and the Hungarian literature teachers of our school. The winners got valuable prizes such as books, but noone went home empty handed because every participant got something as a reward. The wood instrument orchestra of our school played at the opening ceremony. During the break children could try their skills at making the symbols of Easter, paper lamb, bunny and eggs.
